Which group should I join?
Ali’s XCC Reccy Ride + Trail Ride (Level 2)
This group will be checking out the route for the upcoming XCC with the opportunity to session features or sections of trails. If you have plenty of beans left after that, Ali will take you on a little adventure to check out some of the other fine trails Shep’s has to offer.
Kate’s Rowdy Ride (Level 3)
Kate’s rides are not for the faint-hearted. This group will doing hot laps of the gravity trails at Shep’s with no stopping to session features and definitely no stopping for the ‘gram. Join this group if you are confident riding all of the gravity trails at Shep’s, want to blow some cobwebs out with some sick air time and mad skids, and love plenty of top notch banter on the way back up the hill.
Where is Shepherd’s Hill Recreation Park?
We will be meeting inside the gate near the pump track, ready to roll at 9.00am. There is a very small car park on Ayliffes Road so car pooling will be essential. If you live locally, we encourage to ride there.
What to bring
All riders are expected to be self sufficient. Here are some things you might like to bring/think about:
Make sure your bike is in good working order - bring any spares you might need
Wear appropriate clothing (enclosed shoes, comfortable sports clothing)
Bring enough water and snacks for the ride!
Bring any relevant medications
Prepare for the weather. As a wise Scotsman once said, “Ach, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing”. Think about sunscreen, rain jacket, change of clothes, etc.
