2026
Club Collab Race Series
We are excited to announce our new
Club Collab Race Series for 2026!
There are four races, each a different MTB discipline, so you can try them all out.
This club collaboration series is for all women and girls (10+) who want to experience mountain bike racing in a fun and supportive environment! Whether you’re new to racing or have been riding for years, you’re welcome to join. We are working in with Adelaide Mountain Bike Club, Inside Line Mountain Bike Club and the First Descent Downhill Series, and Gravity Enduro SA to bring you a race hosted by each of the clubs, with a special focus on women and girls.
There will be a cross-country short track (XCC) hosted by Adelaide Mountain Bike Club, a downhill (DH) race (hosted by Inside Line MTB Club as part of the First Descent Series), a mystery round and a gravity enduro (GE) race (hosted by Gravity Enduro SA). You can race one or race them all. Each of the races will count towards the respective host club’s series and also towards the Gravity Girls SA race series.
Gravity Girls SA will be working closely with each of the clubs to provide a super-supportive and female friendly race vibe. Support for Gravity Girls members includes:
Race reccy rides
Discounted entry fees
Race mentors (experienced racers to ride around with you and provide support on the day)
Female-only shuttle bus for the DH and Downduro races
Female-only field for the Cross Country XCC race
Special race briefings with a GG race director sitting alongside the club race director at each race
Gravity Girls tent at each of the races as a place to congregate and leave gear.
Race Categories
Race categories will align with the race categories provided by each of the respective clubs and entry will be through their EntryBoss system.
You will find the races and reccy rides in our calendar, with more of the nitty gritty details you need to know below. You can check out our socials to stay up to date too.
RACE INFO
RACE INFO
Cross Country Short Course
Date: 22nd February
Venue: Shepherds Hill Recreation Park
GGSA x Adelaide Mountain Bike Club
Adelaide Mountain Bike Club is the prominent cross country club in Adelaide. They run a variety of cross country formats throughout the year, including short course, cross country Olympic and longer style events.
Race around a short, slightly technical lap as many times as you can in a dedicated timeslot (approx. 20 mins). All riders start together so you can ride with a friend or tussle for position with a competitor! This is the most spectator friendly event, so if you aren’t sure about racing, come out and watch.
GGSA x Inside Line First Descent Series
Downhill
Date: 15th March
Venue: TBC
Inside Line coordinates two downhill series across Adelaide, known as the State Series and the First Descent Series. While the State Series supports our top SA riders, the First Descent Series is designed to guide riders through their first experiences of downhill racing, with easier tracks, shortened scheduling and extra supports.
Downhill racing requires riders to tackle a single, predominately downhill track. Riders get practice laps prior to their race run, and are often driven up the hill in shuttle buses. At race time, riders are sent down the track individually with large gaps to the next rider.
Gravity Enduro SA organises all gravity enduro racing in Adelaide. They run their season over the winter period, and usually hold 4-6 rounds.
Gravity Enduro racing is a mix of technical skill and fitness. Riders race down 3-5 predominantly downhill stages, and ride between stages. Riders race individually on each stage, with gaps left between the next rider. A rider’s total time is the sum of each stage, with the winner having the lowest total time.
DownDuro
Date: 12th April
Venue: TBC
GGSA x Gravity Enduro South Australia
Gravity Enduro
Date: 10th May
Venue: TBC
Downduro is a SUPERRR exciting discipline that (we think) is unique to Adelaide! Riders will race down 2-4 tracks and the combined time wins (the same as a gravity enduro), but there are shuttles!
This event is being run as a big collab between Gravity Enduro SA, Inside Line and Gravity Girls SA and we can’t wait.
A bit more about racing and the race series
Racing is an opportunity to ride on closed trails in a controlled environment and test your own abilities as a rider. There are a number of different disciplines of mountain bike racing.
Races are governed by AusCycling technical regulations, which in turn comply with UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) regulations. These regulations have been developed to ensure the safety of all participants and to encourage fair competition.
At each race there will be a race village set up, where riders can congregate before and after races and where there will be food, toilets and medical support available. There will also be a dedicated parking area close to the race village. Racers are asked to observe signage or directions from the parking attendant and park in the dedicated parking areas.
There will be a registration area in the race village. Riders are required to register when they arrive at the race and receive their race plate and timing chip. Riders must return their timing chip at the end of the race.
If you are new to racing, please let the people know on registration. We will have a small team of race mentors to help out on the day and we can also answer any questions you may have.
There will be a riders briefing given by the race director prior to each race, where key information about the race will be provided. It is compulsory for all riders to attend the riders briefing.
Overall Series
Riders in the competitive categories will be able to compete for individual race wins and points from the races will accumulate towards an overall series championship.
Riders will receive points towards an overall Gravity Girls series championship, and also towards the series points of the relevant collaborating club.
Categories
Series categories will be confirmed with the collaborating clubs and released accordingly.
Points
Points from each race will be allocated to award an overall race series champion for each of the categories, both for a GGSA series and the relevant collaborating club series.
Licensing requirements
All riders will be required to have a race off-road’ AusCycling Licence as minimum. Day licences and 4-week free trials will be accepted. Riders from other clubs will be accepted.
Riders may be asked to show their licence details upon registration, so please make sure you have your licence information available (you can download into you digital wallet).
For more information on licencing see https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership.
If you currently have a lifestyle membership and wish to upgrade to a race licence you can do so here.
Minimum equipment
Each race has its own minimum equipment and clothing requirements, which are specified in more detail within the entry page on EntryBoss.
All riders must wear an Australian Standard Helmet (AS/NZS 2063) while riding for the duration of the event. This includes around the village and on liaison stages.
All bikes must have working and effective front and rear hand brakes, bar plugs, ‘MTB style tyres’ and flat bars. It is recommended (although not required) for bikes to have gears and suspension.
E-bikes are permitted, however they must race in the dedicated E-Bike category. E-Bikes must be commercially available, not be modified or chipped and comply with AusCycling Technical Regulations for E-Bikes.
