Chambers Gully / Cleland | All Levels - Moderate Fitness

Join us for a ride through Cleland and the Mt Lofty area. This ride will be less technical - more fire roads than single trails but will require a moderate level of fitness for the climbs. This ride will be about 30kms all up - we will be winding our way from the bottom of Waterfall Gully up to almost Mt Lofty (exact loop TBD). Don't let the climbing scare you off though as it is a beautiful ride!

E-bikes are always welcome - depending on the number of e-bikes, the group may split up.

Please meet us at the Chambers Gully Carpark on Waterfall Rd.

*This ride is for Gravity Girls Members only.

Which group should I join?

This is a no-drop ride for all levels however a moderate fitness level is required due to the amount of climbing involved.

* Level 1:  Beginner to intermediate on single trails / slower pace up & down hills. Green and blue trails

* Level 2: Intermediate to strong intermediate on single trails / moderate fitness. Green, blue & easier black trails

* Level 3: Strong intermediate to advanced on single trails / fast-paced ride (possibly). Green, blue, black & double black trails

Where is Chambers Gully?

Directions – the car park is located on Waterfall Gully Rd. Parking can be limited - especially on a weekend morning! There is parking on the road as well as up the Burnside Quarry Track.  Click HERE for a location pin.

Please arrive 15 minutes early, so you are ready to roll out by 9.30 am.

What to bring

All riders are expected to be self-sufficient. Here are some things you might like to bring/think about:

  • Make sure your bike is in good working order - bring any spares you might need

  • Wear appropriate clothing (enclosed shoes, comfortable sports clothing)

  • Bring enough water and snacks for the ride! (there is a water fill station at the car park)

  • Bring any relevant medications

  • Prepare for the weather. As a wise Scotsman once said, “Ach, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing”. Think about sunscreen, a rain jacket, a change of clothes, etc.
